Application form design

After making quick mock ups of the application forms, i decided my idea number 2 was the best as it was different to a standard a4 application form. The other application forms would require double side printing which may cost more than single side printing. With the idea i have chosen it will allow me to put enough information on what the form requires and i will be able to fit more than one form on an a3 piece of paper when it come to print, which will be environmentally friendly and a quicker process.

Race Numbers

I did a bit of research into race number sizes which gave me a quick idea on the sizes of race number badges. I have 6 X 6.25 in for single or double digits and 8.5 X 5.5 in or 8.5 X 7 in for the triple digit numbers.

My Race Number Design

I then mocked the numbers up onto t-shirts/vest men and women would probably wear at the event to show how these race numbers would work. I kept the font of the numbers the same to keep everything flowing nicely.

In context-i tested how the race numbers would look like on tee's when people would wear them.

After trying this i felt the race numbers worked well, and were clear.

T-shirts

T-shirt development

Black t-shirts will be for people helping out at the even and the white tee's are for merchandise purposes.

Final Logo Design

I chose this design because i thought the cropped flag image into '2010' look quiet different as to a pure type based logo design.

Decision Time

I quiet like the bottom one as the Cardiff Marathon written in welsh fits quiet nicely with the english text.

Logo Development

I felt my idea of using the flag as the main focus of my logo design was my strongest idea because the welsh flag is a symbolic symbol and this would make the international audience aware where the event is. I also felt the welsh flag has a lot of character with the welsh dragon becoming the most symbolic symbol to where this event is going to take place. Here are the development of the logo..
